Montessori Classroom Assistant (Monitor)

We are currently seeking part-time Grader / Montessori Classroom Assistant (Monitor) who enjoys working with children K-12 in a classroom setting. You will be responsible for guiding / assisting our students through our English program.

Responsabilities:
Assists teacher during class time by redirecting children to work and aiding children who need help.
Works with teacher to prepare environment each day.
Maintains order and cleanliness of environment daily.
Assists in the cleaning, preparation, and maintenance of classrooms at the beginning of the school year, occasionally during year and at
the close of the school year.
Supervises children and provides direct instruction and/or remedial help as directed by the teacher.
Helps children to work cooperatively in an atmosphere of respect, using models of behavior and intervention demonstrated by the
teacher.
Helps teacher to make materials and plan activities; assists with field trips and “going out”
Substitutes for teacher in cases of illness or absence.
Reports accidents and concerns immediately to the teacher.
Works with teacher to learn about philosophy of Montessori to further understand the goals of the class.
Carries out all specific procedures and responsibilities as outlined byStaff Handbook and the teacher.
